Nature’s Kiss

There’s something about escaping the city for a day and wondering around in the woods, it has a calming effect, I am left somewhat elated. It can be hard, getting out there, take this morning for instance; Me and Mr.J both have that feeling, that pull, to  get out, feel the cold winter air bite at our noses, to breath in deeply the clean crisp air. But there are essays, housework, headaches all trying to keep us in, stop us from escaping. Its mornings like this that I feel trapped, oppressed by these four walls, the same four walls that on a different day, a different mood would make me feel safe, secure and warm. I’m sure he feels it to, the need to run, jump, explore, touch and taste the outside.
There is a poem written by an amazing poet, Hollie Mcnish called Ms Nature which I absolutely Love!  Imageshe speaks it over a beat and it sounds a lot better spoken by her than read, so check it out at http://holliemcnish.bandcamp.com/album/touch-a-collection-of-poetry-spoken-word-and-music-available-to-download-audio-only-or-order-with-full-illustrated-16-page-poetry-booklet

Ms Nature
There’s a fantasy outside but no-one knows about it,
Boxed up in flats offices houses without it, step outside, I can’t believe what your missing,
wonder into fields and feel mother nature kissing cloud over head,
Like a jungle stumble in a clearing with two buds on your tongue chase the light and your shrinking through the hole,
lights out like childhood power cuts, fumbling through forna leaves weeds and flowers,
hear the rabbits shout “people come our way, get off the road, release your mind for this high play”
The gloomy city’s long gone, Ms Natures gonna kiss you look around you for a minute let sweet trees tickle you,
come play away lay away your days in my haze man,
come stray away let my crazy forest glade man,
pick up a branch spark a plant and light your way man,
breath in and listen to the sounds of the forest like,
sweet sweet sipping on buttercup tea, tweet tweet hear the nightingales and butterflies glee, beat beat the forest drums under basted trees,
sit back and listen to Ms Natures melody
sweet sweet sipping on buttercup tea, tweet tweet hear the nightingales and butterflies glee, beat beat the forest drums under basted trees,
sit back and listen to my melody

life here, she slowly whispers in your ear is so nice here, there’s nothing here for you to fear all that you like here, my mamma surely provides your living a nightmare back home there’s no lullaby.

And I start thinking, watching the grasshoppers parade, what was I thinking?  As I lie on flowers under leafy shade I’m sinking into petals sweet perfume washes a fragrant face fire flies lighting the glade like a star parade.
Its so beautiful here, I’m not going back,
its so musical here, crickets bluebells and blades of grass breezing in sunshine’s path, basking me in mushrooms gooey honey and real love at last.
I take a walk see a fairy ride a lizard, snakes whisper breezes and butterflies kissing listen;
frogs playing with pixies, hopping onto lily pads and splashing the fishes and wishing,
I could stay here forever, naked like the others living life a little better,
eating chestnuts and acorns, bathing in oceans ponds living to live just living with natures song so,
Ms Nature, please keep caressing me, I’m floating along so please keep addressing me, I’m rolling along up on the back of this centipede keep singing your song just bless me.
life here, she slowly whispers in your ear is so nice here, there’s nothing here for you to fear all that you like here, my mamma surely provides your living a nightmare back home with your nine to five.
Just lay back and soak up natures lullaby,
There’s a fantasy outside but no-one knows about it,
Boxed up in flats offices houses without it, step outside I can’t believe what your missing, wonder into fields and feel mother nature kissing the clouds
But people stare at the pavement, there’s beauty all around us but the beauty’s been wasted we tasted the way, so go now and share it there’s a playground outside make, others aware of it.
stare at it, smell it touch it and taste it, look up to the sky because people just waste it, look up to the sky because people never do, steel trees oil rivers concrete jungles swamping you,
look around you, at the people filled with beauty cos we’ve trained our eyes to recognise nothing but Gucci, look intensely at material and miss everything godly its cold, we didn’t make the body to distract you, from the soul.
Its cold, we didn’t make the money, to distract you from the real gold.

There’s a fantasy outside but no-one cares about it,
Boxed up in flats offices houses without it, step outside you won’t believe what your missing,
wonder into feels and feel mother nature kissing, there’s a world outside but people are too scared to go there, woods aren’t full of frights don’t believe what your told there aren’t terrorists and thieves lurking in the trees just fantasy and freedom floating in between the leaves.

Beautiful isn’t it?

We made it out today to the woods and the river, beautiful golden leaves everywhere. Although we did get marginally lost for a while which resulted in a rather tedious trek around the many paths and very very sore feet!
Home now though, time to make a stew and snuggle up

Peace Out,
Miss W
